The best of the bowling weekend

The two teams met on the second half of the season last Friday at the bowling alley in the Hotel Plunhof in Ridnaun. With 10 (Ratschings) and 8 points (Sarnthein), both still have a small cushion over the relegation places, but the one more point they would have gotten for a win would have been most welcome.

The hosts were ahead in the duels. Christian Kasslatter and Hannes Rainer were first on the track for Ratschings, who faced Franz Obkircher and Walter Innerebner from Sarnen. Kasslatter won against Obkircher with 595:573 bowling, with Obkircher catching up in the last two sets but no longer able to match his opponent's bowling score. Rainer secured 2 set points in the 572:556 victory over Innerebner.

Afterwards, Thomas Rainer and Johannes Oberhofer took to the track for Ratschings and Erich Ainhauser and Josef Obkircher for Sarntal. Rainer didn't have a good day, lost both first sets and was then substituted for Reinhard Lechner. He won the last two sets against Ainhauser, but could no longer reach the pins. It ended with 560:504 for Ainhauser. Oberhofer scored the third match point for Ratschings by defeating Obkircher with 572:556.

The last players in action were Peter Volgger and Andreas Gschwenter (Ratschings) as well as Manuel Geier and Christian Plattner (Sarnthein). Volgger won an extremely close duel against Geier with 570:566 Kegel (2:2 in set points), but Plattner saved Sarnthein's second match point against Gschwenter with a 563:516 victory. In the overall score, Sarnthein was ahead with 3374:3329 pins, so they made it 4:4 and the points were shared.

Vöran Blecherne on course for top 3 Vöran Blecherne is fully on track. In the top game against Tirol Mutspitz (5th in the table), Annemarie Innerhofer & Co. won 5-1 and secured third place in the table, even if Sarnthein was only one point behind. Because Tirol Mutspitz lost, the gap between Sarnen and Tirol is now a full 3 points.

Last Thursday there was a battle of nerves in Veranum. Neither team showed a top performance, which is underlined by Vöran's Christine Innerhofer's best performance of 548 bowls.

Vöran's bowlers were of course better at home. Waltraud Innerhofer scored the first match point against Silvia Gaiser, whereby Gaiser, who had a difficult time abroad, was substituted for Jasmin Ladurner after the second set. But she couldn't get close to Innerhofer either and lost with 475:508 (1:3 in set points). At the same time, Christine Innerhofer and Natalie Prantl played on the track, and the Vöran woman also won here. Innerhofer got all 4 set points and won - as already mentioned - with the best performance of the day of 548:502 bowling.

Tyrol's Gabriele Gamper also had to admit defeat to Annemarie Innerhofer. Vöran's sports captain knocked down 534 pins, Gamper got 513. In the last duel, Dora Rinner got the Tyrolean honorary point after she put Julia Mittelberger in her place in a head-to-head race with 470:467 (2:2 in set points). . However, the victory could no longer be taken away from Vöran.

In the end it's a good point, but it doesn't really help anyone: the Ratschings and Sarnthein selections missed a big leap towards safety in the direct duel and are still within reach of the relegation places.
