The big cone finish

It was already clear before the final matchday that Jaufenburg and Überetsch Eppan would be relegated to the B-League. Nevertheless, the two relegated teams left the top flight with their heads held high. While Überetsch Eppan drew with Passeier, Jaufenburg even managed a win against Vöran Blecherne.

The team from the Passeier Valley thus ensured a conciliatory finish. The match against Vöran Blecherne was exciting right up to the last second.

Jaufenburg got off to a strong start on their home track. Saskia Platter achieved the best score of the day with 559 pins and defeated Birgit Unterholzner of Vöran Blecherne, who had 536 pins (3:1 in set points). However, Vöran Blecherne then equalized. In the second match, Christine Innerhofer made short work of Berta Zöschg, who won all four set points with her 554 pins, while Zöschg only knocked down 4 pins.

Then came a thrilling duel between Jaufenburg's Sieglinde Prinoth and Vöran Blecherne's Annemarie Innerhofer. Both knocked down exactly 538 pins, earning two set points each – and thus the point was shared. The final duel was between Alina Platter (Jaufenburg) and Julia Mittelberger (Vöran Blecherne). Platter knocked down 2 pins, equaling her teammate Saskia Platter's best score of the day. She also won all four set points against Mittelberger, who had 559 pins.

The overall result was particularly close, as Jaufenburg ultimately won by a single pin. The final score of 2124:2123 resulted in a 4,5:1,5 victory.

Naturns finishes in 5th place From 7th to 5th place: Naturno's season finish is impressive. With a 6-2 win in their final championship match against Burggräfler on Saturday, and losses to other rivals like Sarnthein (1-7 against Fugger Sterzing) and Passeier (1-7 against Algund), Naturno has secured 5th place.

A completely different mood prevailed in Nals: Before the last matchday, they still had a tiny chance of staying in the league, but a bowling miracle did not happen and the Burggräfler, just like Pfalzen, were relegated.

Back to Naturns: The Lower Vinschgau team faced Burggräfler on their home track and ultimately lived up to their role as favorites. Led by the strong Molcan Frantisek, who set the day's best score of 622 pins in the final duel against Lukas Kuen, Naturns left nothing to be desired and won convincingly. In the first duel, however, they were still lucky, as Walter Schlögl beat Michael Haller by a whisker, 595-585 pins (2-2 in set points). Then, Burggräfler's young talent, Michael Waldner, gave Naturns' Roland Wallnöfer no chance, winning 593-531 (4-0 in set points).

Next up were Martin Kienzl and Florian Schlögl (both Naturns), and Heinrich Schönthaler and Josef Sieder (both Burggräfler). Kienzl lost to Schönthaler 548:607 (0,5:3,5 in set points), but Schlögl beat Sieder 619:583 (3:1 in set points). Kurt Fliri next defeated Manfred Oberhofer (595:573, 3:1 in set points) to make it 3:2 for Naturns, before Molcan's superb performance put the final touches on the game.
