As a niche sport, ten-pin bowling doesn't have it easy in South Tyrol. The competition from football, ice hockey, and the numerous winter sports is overwhelming. But only almost: After all, there are over 1000 active bowlers in South Tyrol who go on the hunt for pins week after week in training and matches. Remarkably, despite the competition on the lanes, the South Tyrolean bowling community is a close-knit family.
