Fugger Sterzing: Second game, again 5:1

For the Fugger team, the encounter on Friday evening was also the first home game of the season in the Bliegerstadion. And as is fitting for the champions for the last 8 years, they got off to a good start on their home track, even if the first duel was a close affair. Sofia Saxl played for the Fugger Sterzing team, and she met Jaufenburg's Saskia Platter. Saxl won the first and third sets, while Platter won the second and fourth. The winner was determined by the bowling score, and Saxl was in the lead by a narrow margin of 3:2.

The second duel was more clear. Jaufenburg's Sieglinde Prinoth faced Gabriele Bürger from Sterzing and in the end she had no choice but to congratulate Bürger on the best score of the day with 598 pins. Prinoth managed 513 pins and Bürger also won all 4 set points.

Runggatscher confident Jaufenburg also scored points in the third duel. Alina Platter defeated Sterzing's Sabrina Parigger 3:530, each player scored 512 set points. Last but not least, the Fugger team sent their captain Laura Runggatscher into the race. The best local bowler did not let herself be beaten by Jaufenburg's Berta Zöschg, knocking down 2 pins and scoring all 591 set points. Zöschg scored 4 pins.

One team can still catch up to the top of the table. The match between Sarnthein and Passeier had to be postponed. Today is the first match for Passeier after their opening match against Vöran Blecherne was also postponed.

Pfalzen wins narrowly In the men's competition, Pfalzen played a very close game with Nals on Friday after the 4:4 draw against Passeier in the opening match. This time, however, Oswald Weger's team had reason to be happy: the Pfalzner won against the Etschtaler with 5:3, because they were in the lead with 31 pins in the overall result (3306:3275).

The match started exactly as Nals had hoped. In the first two duels, Kurt Plunger and Christian Mocanu won against Pfalzen's Fabian Tschafeller and Oswald Weger. Plunger defeated Tschafeller with 582:568 pins (3:1 in set points), Mocanu put Weger in his place with 574:522 (3:1 in set points).

But Pfalzen struck back in the form of Robert Larcher and Johann Hofer. The two Pustertal players defeated Roland Lechner and Florian Egger from Nals. Larcher and Lechner fought a very close duel, both scored 2 set points, but Larcher knocked down 6 more pins (555:549). Hofer was ahead in the overall result with 530:505 pins and scored 3 set points.

The last to take to the track were Szabolcs Tòt and Horst Steinhauser for Nals and Hannes Kaiser and Andreas Bodner for Pfalzen. Kaiser delivered the best performance of the day against Tòt with 593 pins and thus won the match point, Tòt managed 521 pins. Steinhauser, however, smoothed this over with a 3:3. Again, the duel against Bodner was decided after 2 set points per player in the overall result, again a player was ahead by 6 pins, only this time it was Horst Steinhauser from Nals. Pfalzen could still be happy because the overall result spoke in their favor, meaning that the first win of the season was in the bag.
