Big bowling sensation: Neumarkt loses points

Algund held out strongly against the – admittedly severely decimated – defending champions and fought to a 4:4 draw. Neumarkt's winning streak may be over, but its 8-year invincibility remains intact.

At Neumarkt, two regular players, superstar Vilmos Zavarko and captain Wolfgang Blaas, were absent, and several substitutes from the second team were also missing, so Daniel Prinoth and Rudolf Visintin stepped in for them.

Prinoth was also the first on the lane and lost to Dominik Rechenmacher. Both bowlers scored 2 set points each, but Rechenmacher managed 564 pins, while Prinoth's scoreboard remained at 547 and the point went to the Algund player.

In the second duel, Erik Kuna and Michael Ladurner met and this was also where the game turned. Kuna lost the duel against the Algund giant talent completely unexpectedly with 2:594 pins (603:1 in set points).

In the third duel, Tamás Kiss shortened the lead with the best score of the day of 3 pins against Anton Oberperfler (628), then Georg Righi equalized against Peter Gilg to 547:2. Righi defeated Gilg with 2:553 pins.

Neumarkt had successfully fought back, but Algund did not give up and sensed the chance to create a sensation. The Burggräfler also had luck on their side, because Armin Egger had a very bad day and clearly lost the duel against Christian Mair with 544:589.

Rudolf Visintin also had to admit defeat against Ivan Waldner with 504:509 (1,5:2,5 in set points), which meant that Algund had at least secured a draw. It remained a draw, because in the overall result Neumarkt was ahead with 3370:3333 pins and took the last 2 match points for the final score of 4:4.

In the table, two teams benefited from Neumarkt's draw: Fugger Sterzing and Sarnthein won their games against Ratschings and Nals and are still in a perfect position after three games. Ratschings and Naturns are still stuck in the relegation places with no points.

Villnöß warms up for the top game Bolzano (fs). The Villnöss bowling ladies are, alongside the Fugger Sterzing, the only team in the A class that has won all three games so far. But it should be added: Sarnthein has played one game less and has 3 wins in 2 games. So it is a good thing that the Sarnen and Villnöss women will meet on Friday and a real top game is in the offing.

On the third match day, Villnöß warmed up for the duel against Sarnthein against Vöran Blecherne. On the home track in the leisure center, Selina Fischnaller & Co. won 3:5 with a good team average of 1 pins.

The hosts got off to a good start with Selina Fischnaller, who showed Julia Mittelberger her limits with a crystal clear 538:486 victory (4:0 in set points). Simone Putzer had bad luck in the second duel, because although she knocked down more pins against Christine Innerhofer (2:521), she lost the point. Innerhofer from Vöran had scored 519 set points with her 519 pins and Putzer only scored one.

Jasmin Prader and Nathalie Profanter ironed this out for Villnöß with ease. Prader defeated Annemarie Innerhofer with 531:499 (3:1 in set points), Profanter in an inimitable way set the best score of the day with 578 pins and knocked down almost 100 pins more than her opponent Birgit Unterholzner (482). The final score of 5:1 was sealed with a total result of 2168:1986 for Villnöß.

Big bowling sensation: Neumarkt loses points

Every series comes to an end at some point. This is also the case with KK Neumarkt, who failed to win on the third matchday of the current season for the first time in almost eight years.
