Passeier on the advance, Jaufenburg surprises

The Ratschings selection got off to a strong start on its home track at the Hotel Plunhof. Christian Kasslatter won the first match point in the first duel against Passeier player Hugo Ennemoser. He only lost the third set and ended up with 528 pins, while Ennemoser fell short of his expectations and only knocked down 499 pins.

At the same time, Johannes Oberhofer (Ratschings) and Helmut Zipperle were in action and Passeier equalized. Both players scored 2 set points each in an exciting duel, but Zipperle's scoreboard remained at 589 pins, Oberhofer scored 578 pins and the point went to Passeier.

A tough struggle Next up were Peter Volgger for the Ratschings selection and Walter Pichler for Passeier. This was also an exciting match: While Volgger knocked down 544 pins, Pichler knocked down 545 pins. But because Pichler got 2,5 set points and Volgger got 1,5 set points, Passeier took the lead. But Thomas Haller equalized immediately. The Ratschings player gave Passeier's Markus Prünster no chance. With his 572 pins, he got all 4 set points, Prünster got 544 pins.

In the last duels, Passeier decided the match. First, Ratschinger Thomas Rainer and Passeier bowler Walter Raich faced each other. In a close duel, both scored 2 set points each, but in the end Raich had knocked down 19 more pins (561:542) and made it 3:2 for the guests.

Andreas Gschwenter and the aforementioned Oswald Kofler were the last to take their turn. There was no tension here, as Kofler was once again in brilliant form. The Passeier team's star player scored 622 pins and won all 4 set points. Gschwenter, who scored 554 pins, had no choice but to congratulate his opponent. In the overall result, Passeier was ahead by 42 pins (3360:3318) and thus ended the match with a 6:2 victory.

It couldn't have been closer. But Jaufenburg had the better end. In the match against Tirol Mutspitz, one of the top teams in the league, Saskia Platter & Co. won 4:2. The overall result was decisive and that caused astonishment: Jaufenburg was in the lead by 2 pins (2063:2061 pins), securing the last 2 match points and thus the win.

After the duels, the score was 2:2. Sara Waldner for the hosts from Tirol Mutspitz and Saskia Platter for Jaufenburg were the first to take to the bowling alley in the Tirol clubhouse. Platter started with 534 pins and won 469 set points against Waldner, who had 3 pins. Silvia Gaiser immediately equalized the match. The Tirol Mutspitz player defeated Jaufenburg's Berta Zöschg with the best score of the day of 555 pins to 496 pins (3:1 in set points).

Fugger outstanding Then it was Dora Rinner's (Tirol Mutspitz) turn against Sieglinde Prinoth (Jaufenburg). This time the score was 2:2 in sets, but Rinner had knocked down 522 pins and Prinoth only 505 pins. Alina Platter made up for that for Jaufenburg by defeating Gabriele Gamper 528:515 (2:2 in set points). So the overall result had to decide and, as already mentioned, that was on the Jaufenburg team's side.

The top match between Villnöß and Fugger Sterzing also took place on the 5th match day. The table leaders from Sterzing showed no weakness and won 570:5, despite the best performance of the day by Villnöss player Nathalie Profanter (1 pins).

Passeier secured its second win of the season on the last match day. They beat the stragglers team Ratschings 2:6 and were once again able to celebrate Oswald Kofler. The Passeier's flagship team shone with a very strong 2 pins.
