Psairer signs of life and expensive slip-up

In the away game in Lagundo, Passeier celebrated a 5-3 win and handed over the red lantern to the Hölzerne 9 from Klausen. Passeier prevailed with a real fighting performance. It was close several times, but in the end 58 cones decided in favor of the Passirians.

But first things first: In the first two duels, Algund sent Dominik Machenmacher and Michael Ladurner onto the track, while Passeier used Hugo Ennemoser and Walter Pichler against them. Ennemoser immediately got the first match point by defeatingrakemacher with 593:571 (3:1 in set points). At the same time, Ladurner ensured that the situation was balanced; the young talent from Algunder gave Walter Pichler no chance with a 581:516 victory (also 3:1 in set points).

Then Algund presented properly. Christian Mair and Ivan Waldner scored against Passeier's Walter Raich and Stefan Marth. The duel between Mair and Raich was particularly strange: it ended with a 579:576 bowling score from Raich's point of view. But because Mair got 2,5 set points and Raich only 1,5, the point went to Algunder. Particularly bitter: If Raich had cleared 3 more pins in the last set, he would have won the point. Things were clearer between Waldner and Marth. Waldner won with 550:528 (3:1 in set points).

So Passeier had to deliver in the last two duels. And that's what they did. First, captain Oswald Kofler defeated his counterpart Anton Oberperfler with a crystal-clear 598:510 win (4:0 in set points) and was also the best of the day, then Markus Prünster was also there against Peter Gilg. Prünster got 546 pins and got 3 set points, Gilg had to be content with 514 pins and one set point. So it was clear: the overall result decides the winner. From Algunder's perspective, 3302:3360 was on the scoreboard and Passeier was able to celebrate. After a long time, Oswald Kofler & Co. are no longer in a relegation zone.

Women's bowling: Fugger Vipiteno slips up Ouch, Fugger Vipiteno! This slip-up could cost the people of Wipptal dearly. Last Friday they had to admit defeat against Sarnthein with 1:5 and have now given Villnöß the opportunity to escape.

The result does not come as a complete surprise. Sarnthein has only won one of three games in the second half of the season, but is firmly in the top four of the A class. The Fuggers were also missing Gabriele Bürger, who was replaced by Veronika Tock. Tock was also in the first duel against Sarnthein's young talent Greta Trojer and had to clearly admit defeat. Trojer cleared 3 pins and took all 4 set points against Tock, who had 557 pins. Laura Runggatscher couldn't prevent Vipiteno's defeat.

Then it was the turn of Dagmar Wiedenhofer and Sofia Saxl. And Sarnthein scored again. Wiedenhofer knocked down 552 pins, scored 3 set points and secured the match point against Saxl, who had 522 pins. By now Sarnthein had tasted blood and Angelika Stauder immediately followed up. Against Sterzing's Sabrina Parigger she got the 3rd match point by winning with 522:519, but also got 3 set points.

Fugger star player Laura Runggatscher had almost no chance of saving her team from a draw against Sarnthein's Adele Ainhauser in the captains' duel. To achieve this she would have had to knock down almost 150 more pins than her opponent. Although Runggatscher achieved the best performance of the day with 574 pins and also took the honorary point thanks to three set points, Ainhauser, for her part, managed 556 pins and the 5-1 victory was sealed.

Meanwhile, Villnöß made use of the slip-up, won its own game against Passeier 5-1 and now leads the table with a 3-point lead. But they also have to play against Sarnthein on the next matchday and the Sarnen team - as we have seen - knows how to beat favorites. The direct duel between Villnöß and Fugger Sterzing only takes place on the last match day in April.

The relegation battle in the men’s A1 class – it’s getting more exciting and exciting. Passeier, which has remained in a relegation spot since the start of the second half of the season, showed a big sign of life against fourth-placed Algund and is now in 10th place.
