Evelyn Prossliner of ASV Tirol Mutspitz delivered a particularly strong performance last weekend in the girls' C-youth category, scoring 700 pins. She won ahead of Laura Raffeiner (ASV Burggräfler, 677 pins) and Leonie Haspinger (ASV Burggräfler, 652 pins). The young Tyrolean was thus the top scorer of the day. The most exciting competition, however, came in the boys' C-youth category: Jannik Sieder of SSV Pfalzen and Janik Pircher of ASV Vöran both knocked down 675 pins. Ultimately, the Puster Valley native won due to fewer missed throws. David Haller from Passeier completed the podium with 670 pins.
The VSS/Raiffeisen state championships for the A and B youth categories had already taken place a week earlier. Unlike the C youth, who bowled a full set of pins, the young bowlers completed a sports program. In the B youth category, Victoria Auer (ASV Burggräfler, 511 pins) and Hannes Pichler (ASV Aldein, 527 pins) were the top performers of the day and thus celebrated their VSS/Raiffeisen state championship titles. Sophie Mantinger (ASV Villnöss, 475 pins) and Hanna Buchschwenter (ASV Burggräfler, 472 pins) followed in the girls' competition, while Simon and Tobias Steinacher (both ASV Verdings) finished second and third, respectively, with 519 and 499 pins in the boys' competition.
In the girls' A-youth category, Selina Fischnaller (ASV Villnöss) delivered a strong performance with 564 pins, deservedly winning the state championship title. Natalie Prantl (ASV Burggräfler) followed in second place with 559 pins, while Annalena Obexer (ASV Villnöss) took third place with 554 pins. In the boys' A-youth category, Noah Steinacher (ASV Verdings) celebrated the coveted VSS/Raiffeisen state championship title with 580 pins. Michael Waldner (ASV Burggräfler, 578 pins) and Max Platzgummer (ASV Aldein, 571 pins) followed closely behind.
“Your performances were impressive and they also impressively demonstrate the high level of South Tyrolean youth in ten-pin bowling,” said VSS Chairman Paul Romen and VSS board member Armin Niedermair enthusiastically. VSS representative Helene Gamper was also very pleased: “You have proven how much talent, diligence, and ambition you possess, and that the youth development program in our bowling clubs is working very well.”
