Italian Cup in Prato: South Tyroleans in strong form

The AVS delegation also achieved good results at the third and final bouldering competition of the Italian Cup season. Matilda Liú Moar finished in 5th place, while 15-year-old Pier Giulio Paglierani climbed to 13th place.

Last weekend, a delegation of six AVS athletes traveled to Prato. The team's qualification for the semi-finals went almost perfectly: five of the six athletes qualified confidently after a very demanding round.

The level of difficulty of the bouldering problems increased significantly in the semi-finals. Matila Liù Moar was the only South Tyrolean athlete to make it to the finals, where she delivered a strong performance and secured an excellent 5th place. Also worth mentioning is the outstanding 13th place finish of the 15-year-old Pier Giulio Paglierani.

This concludes the Italian Cup season in bouldering; the three Italian Cup competitions in lead climbing will follow from mid-April.
