Michael Piccolruaz second at the Youth European Cup in Grindelwald

The reigning European youth champion Michael Piccolruaz (AVS Val Gardena) achieved an excellent result with second place. After he barely qualified for the final in sixth place, he was able to make up a few places in the final round.

Andrea Ebner, on the other hand, didn't get along particularly well with the given boulders. However, the woman from Brixen fought her way into the final with great effort and ultimately took fifth place.

From the South Tyroleans, Giulia Alton (17th place) and, for the first time, Marion Senoner (24th place) were also at the start. The next Youth European Cup will take place on June 9th in Voiron, France, in the discipline of difficult climbing.

South Tyrolean climbing kids strong at the Italian championships in Arco

This weekend, Arco was once again the venue for the Italian Championships for the youngest climbing athletes from all over Italy. At the national competitions, the athletes of the Alpine Club of South Tyrol won three overall victories, eight individual victories, 23 podium places and triumph in the team competition. With a total of 14 podium places, the AVS clearly prevailed in the team competition.
