Filip Schenk qualified for the semi-finals in 20th place. Despite an enormous improvement in performance and a solid thirteenth place, the Val Gardena native was eliminated on Friday evening. Schenk ended up in 13th place (27 points), which did not earn him a place in the final among the top 8.
The usual suspects were at the top of the men's rankings. The Olympic champion from Paris, Toby Roberts (40+), was only narrowly defeated by the silver medalist Sorato Anraku (41+). Third best in the semi-final was another Japanese, Shion Omata (33+), just ahead of the German Yannick Flohé (33+).
Garnbret eyes home win
In the women's competition, everything points to a home victory for Janja Garnbret. The local hero and Olympic champion won the semi-finals with ease (46+). Close behind were the Azzurra Laura Rogora (43+) and the Austrian Jessica Pilz (43+).Edit Profile
