The regional lead climbing championship took place in the climbing hall in Cavareno on the Nonsberg in Trentino. For men, the 30 best athletes in the region competed to determine the regional champion in lead climbing. They provided an exciting competition and already in the qualification several athletes climbed both routes TOP, i.e. to the top. In the final, only Fritz Engele (AVS Meran) managed to do this, who clearly dominated the competition.
Samuel Perntaler (AVS Brixen) came second behind Engele. He is the reigning U20 Italian youth champion in lead climbing and proved his talent and good form with second place in the regional championship. Gioele Pfiffer from Arco Climbing came third in the men's category.
Alessandro Larcher, Libero Feller, Alex Pichler and Andreas Cagol as well as David Grasl, who secured the U18 starting place, also qualified for the Italian Cup.
