The Bolzano track and field athletes are aiming for great things in Palermo.

Athletic Club 96 is on course for gold

After the first regional qualification phase, the Athletic Club 96 Bozen confidently leads the national men's ranking of the 2023 Italian Club Championship.

The club from Talferstadt, reigning Italian champions, achieved 18 points in 16.678 disciplines, which gives an average of 926 points per athlete. These are once again excellent figures for Bruno Telchini's team. A total of 197 men's and 188 women's teams took part in the qualifying phases across Italy. This shows how important the greatest possible competition is for clubs in Italy.

The top 60 men's and women's teams will now compete in the five different finals taking place on June 10th and 11th. All twelve clubs that were entitled to take part in the “Oro” final based on the 2022 final rankings also reached the participation limit of 15.000 points this year.

The Bolzano team's opponents in Palermo, where the “Scudetto” is at stake, are La Fratellanza Modena (16.280 points), Atletica Firenze Marathon (16.246), CUS Pro Patria Milano (16.100), Atletica Biotekna Marcon Venezia (16.065), Atletica Brugnera Friulintagli Pordenone (15.914), CUS Palermo (15.856), Pro Sesto Atletica Cernusco (15.803), Atletica Studentesca Rieti Andrea Milardi (15.778), Atletica Milone Siracusa (15.465), Avis Barletta (15.320) and Enterprise Sport and Service Avellino (15.291) .
