European Mountain Running Championships: Medals for Hofer and Pattis

For three days, from Friday to Sunday, Annecy in France was the venue for the European Mountain Running Championships. Three South Tyroleans also started there.

Anna Hofer from Rabland achieved the best result. The 19-year-old from SC Meran took part in both U20 races and was on the podium twice in the team rankings. On the 6 km long uphill route (at 800 m altitude), Hofer secured eighth place on Friday despite the heavy rain in 45.39 minutes. Together with Licia Ferrari, Silvia Boscacci and Debora Bertagnolli, the “Azzurre” were able to celebrate bronze in the team rankings with 35 points behind France (17) and Great Britain (18).


This Sunday, in the Up&Down run over 5,9 km, Hofer came sixth in 33.48 minutes. The Rablander and Lucia Arnoldo (4th), Chiara Pedol (15th) and Federica Borromini (16th) again grabbed the bronze medal in the team ranking. The French won, ahead of Great Britain.

Medal also for Pattis

Daniel Pattis also won bronze with the “Azzurri”. The Tiers mountain running specialist, who reached 16th place in the Up&Down race over 1 km in 14.12:13 hours, climbed onto the podium together with Cesare Maestri (4th), Isacco Costa (10th) and Alberto Vender (20th). . In the end, France narrowly came out on top with 24 points ahead of Great Britain (26) and Italy (27).

Vice world champion Andreas Reiterer from Avelengo landed in 60th place in the 5 km trail in 36.56:28 hours.
