The Mareiter mountain run highlight is approaching

The “Mareiter Stein Attacke” (formerly Mareiter Stein Trophy) has been an integral part of the South Tyrolean mountain running scene since 2015. After a new record number of participants was achieved in 2023 with around 300 enthusiastic athletes, expectations for 2024 are high.

Under the motto “Steep is cool”, the mountain runners in the “Race” category will start on August 10, 2024 at 8.30:4,8 a.m. in the village center of Mareit. This year, the traditional run of 1.180 kilometers and an impressive 2.192 meters of altitude to the summit of the Mareiter Stein (XNUMX m) is planned again.

In the “Hobby” category, more leisurely people make their way to the Kerschbaumeralm (5,5 km/830 m). Here too, it is important to allocate resources well. The middle time is awarded.
A shuttle service is available at Kerschbaumeralm to return to the village. The winners will be announced at 15 p.m. at the Mareit festival site.

Marreiter children's run

The traditional children's run will take place the evening before (August 9, 2024) at 18.30:20 p.m. in the Mareiter village center. The young runners can demonstrate their skills on various routes depending on the category and will then be awarded prizes at XNUMX p.m. on the festival grounds.

In the women's race, Anna Lena Hofer (SC Meran) set a new course record with a time of 58:20.90 minutes and crossed the finish line ahead of Martina Cumerlato (Team Asics) and Severine Peterson (LV ASV Freienfeld).
