The Reschensee Run: An era comes to an end

Since its inception, the race has become a fixture on the regional and international running scene. The event began with 158 participants, and in recent years regularly attracted up to 4.000 runners from Germany and abroad. This made the Reschensee Run one of the largest running events in the country. The organizers cite several factors as reasons for the cancellation.
These include increasing bureaucratic burdens, rising organizational and financial risks, and growing security requirements. Added to this are the significant time commitment required by the organizing team, the departure of some long-serving members, declining motivation after many intensive years, and difficulties in recruiting enough volunteers.

A lack of support from some local partners also exacerbated the situation. Overall, those responsible see no way to continue holding the event under these circumstances. This brings to an end a long-standing sporting event that, for decades, has been a meeting place for running enthusiasts and has shaped the region's sporting landscape.
