The Reschenseelauf in the moonlight

On Saturday, July 12, the Reschenseelauf will be an atmospheric nighttime event. It promises to be a fascinating mix of competition, recreational running, Nordic walking, and handbiking.

The Reschenseelauf (Lake Resia Run) quite rightly bears the title of "South Tyrol's most emotional night run event." On July 12, the popular sporting event in the Reschensee holiday region celebrates its 25th anniversary – with a very special anniversary edition as a Night Run around the iconic Lake Reschen. The approximately 15-kilometer circuit runs completely around the lake and promises an unforgettable running experience under the starry sky.

On the second weekend in July, thousands of running enthusiasts from the border triangle of Italy, Switzerland, and Austria will once again travel to follow the historic Via Claudia Augusta and run along the modern lakeside trail. Over 3300 participants have already registered – including many competitive runners, but also numerous recreational runners who will compete in the main race. The rousing percussion group "Unidos da Forteza" will provide musical inspiration along the route, bringing Caribbean rhythms to life.

But the Reschensee Run isn't just a highlight for ambitious runners. The "Just for Fun" category invites anyone who wants to enjoy the lively atmosphere without the pressure of time. Nordic walkers—almost 150 have already registered this year—and handbikers are also welcome. The children's "Apple Run" is a special highlight of the diverse supporting program. This non-competitive event focuses on fun, exercise, and team spirit.

The children compete in various age groups over age-appropriate distances – always with a view of the lake's landmark, the sunken church tower of Graun. Over 130 young participants have already registered. Registration for the Apple Run is open online and on-site on Friday and Saturday. The start is at 17:15 p.m.

Online registration for the 25th edition of the Reschenseelauf is open until Saturday, July 5th. After that, late registration is only possible on-site on Friday, July 11th, and Saturday, July 12th – as long as there are still free bib numbers. Organizer Gerald Burger recommends securing a spot early. The starter pack includes a medal, attractive prizes, and a souvenir. As always, the event is supported by a dedicated team of volunteers and numerous regional partners and sponsors.

Experience the Reschenseelauf in a completely different way – as an atmospheric night run with sporting highlights, music, surprises and the magic of torchlight and moonlight.
