The all-around championships return to Brixen

The Italian Combined Events Championships for the U23, U20, U18 and U16 categories will be held in Brixen from Friday, June 5th to Sunday, June 7th, 2026. Three days full of competition, during which a total of 8 Italian championship titles will be awarded, 4 for women and 4 for men.

Everyone knows that there's a connection between Brixen and athletics. The unforgettable 2009 U18 World Championships and three editions of the European Combined Events Cup "First League" in 1994, 1998 (featuring local stars Gertrud Bacher and Deborah Feltrin), and 2011 are undeniable proof of this. A "Super League" edition of the European Cup was also held in 2003, and Brixen has twice hosted the Italian national combined events team competitions for the U18 and U20/23 categories.

The episcopal city has also hosted numerous Italian championships in various categories (from the under-16 age group to the open class), and one mustn't forget the magnificent 40 editions of the "Brixia Meeting" for regional select teams, a flagship event known throughout the peninsula. In total, 64 events, both national and international, have been organized at the Brixen sports arena.

It starts on Friday.

This year, the Italian Championships are being organized by SSV Brixen-Bressanone in collaboration with the South Tyrolean Athletics Federation's regional committee. The president of the organizing committee is Zenone Giacomuzzi, son of the historic mayor of Brixen, Zeno Giacomuzzi. The vice presidents are Magdalena Amhof and Claudio Zorzi, and the administrative and technical directors are Stefano Andreatta and Bruno Cappello.

The event begins on Friday, June 5th, at 14 pm with the national trophy for the U16 age group. On Saturday, June 6th, the Italian Championships in the decathlon and heptathlon, reserved for the U18, U20 and U23 categories, will start in the morning.
