Brilliant performances in Haslach

The “Meeting Bozen” took place in Haslach this weekend, where several South Tyrolean athletes were able to enjoy top performances.

Ira Harrasser was particularly strong. The 23-year-old sprinter from Bruneck won the 100 m in 12.03 seconds, ahead of Valentina Cavalleri (12.38). Laura Hofer from Lanan won the high jump with 1.68 m, ahead of her teammate Linda Maria Pircher (1.65). Alessia Goffi from Val Gardena managed 11.55 m in the shot put, and U18 ace Lena Trenkwalder stopped the time measurement over 1500 m in 4:54.38 minutes. There were also victories for 400 m hurdler Agata D'Angelo (1:04.35), long jumper Roberta Giovanelli (5.42 m) and hammer thrower Nicole Castlunger (43.02 m).

In the men's competition, all-rounder Jan Fragiacomo impressed, holding his own in the discus throw with 40.38 m. 400 m hurdles specialist Riccardo Vantini - who competed six hours earlier in the Challenge in Brescia - ran his favorite event in 54.97 seconds. In the U16 competitions, long jumpers Andrea Bassani (6.25 m) and Manuel Lorenzon (6.16) as well as shot put and hammer thrower Stefano Rossi (12.84 and 36.01 m respectively) shone. The Val Gardena long jumper Madaba Vinatzer improved to a good 4.92 m.
