Big spectacle at the Völser Weiher

The youth mountain runner season opened on the beautiful circuit around the Völser Weiher. Sofia Demetz celebrated a confident victory in the U18 girls. The Val Gardena woman clearly won in 8.13 minutes ahead of Julia Gamper from SC Meran and Janina Wild from Deutschnofen. At the finish, Demetz was an impressive 1.06 and 1.31 minutes ahead of her pursuers. In the boys' competition, Gabriel Pichler from Merano had the upper hand over his teammate David Agethle. Eva Schrott, also from SC Meran, secured the U16 class ahead of Lina Wallisch (South Tyrol Team Club) and teammate Lilian Marie Andres. Among the boys of the same age, the victory went to Leo Pedo from the South Tyrol Team Club. U14 runner Klara Alber – she also starts for the Passerstadt team – won ahead of the Sarner twins Greta and Klara Weger. Second race is coming up Alex Lageder from LG Schlern won the boys' race. Nives Stimpfl from Kalter and Matthias Kröss from Sarner won the U12 age group. Mia Thaler and Hannes Prossliner prevailed in the U10 category, while Anna Fiwickeler and Mattis Oberprantacher (both LG Schlern) were at the top of the podium in the U8 class. The cross series will continue next Saturday with the second race of the season, the provincial youth mountain run in Oberplanitzing. The results Girls U18 1.
