In the Gsiesertal the runners come into action.

Gsieser Almenlauf with a new feature

On July 27th, the already legendary Gsieser Almenlauf will take place again in its usual form. The program will be expanded to include a folk march.

The route is 11,7 km long and has an elevation gain of 1070 meters. It starts at the end of the valley and goes over the Ackerle - Tscharniet Alm - Kalksteiner Jöchl - Kasermäder Alm - Gipfel Alm - Kaser Alm - Pfoi Alm, finishing at the Uwald Alm (via Almweg 2000). The use of poles is permitted. In this case, however, they must be taken to the finish. The start (mass start) is at 9 a.m. at the Schlosserhof at the end of the valley in St. Magdalena Gsies.

The motto is: whether you are a professional or an amateur athlete, everyone is welcome. That is why the new "Volksmarsch" format was created for amateurs: no time limit, any route you want with the finish at the Uwald Alm. The starting point and time can be freely chosen. Based on this, around 200 participants are expected.

The prize giving ceremony with awards for the best women and the best men, including a raffle for many vouchers and non-cash prizes among all participants, will take place at 14 p.m. in the finish area. There will also be an average time ranking.
