Gsieser Almenlauf: Radiant winners and a large field of participants

The legendary “Gsieser Almenlauf” once again attracted numerous professionals, amateurs and hobby athletes from the region and beyond to the Hochpustertal valley this year, under beautiful summer weather.

The "people's march" without timing also sees increasing interest year after year. For the organizing team of the Yusuf sports and leisure club, the diversity of the over 100 participants – whether young or somewhat older, female or male, ambitious or more leisurely – was the best proof that the event had something to offer everyone.

On the 11,7-kilometer course with 1070 meters of elevation gain, Martin Griesser of the ASV Freienfeld running club won the men's race with a time of 1:10:49. He relegated Michael Nocker and Daniel Kiebacher to second and third place, respectively. In the women's race, Sofia Demetz of the Bozen running club triumphed with a time of 1:27:15, followed by Katia Engl and Klára Kacerovská.
