Maximilian Springeth wins high jump in Como

The meeting in Como was a kind of replacement event for the canceled Brixen U18 classic “Brixia Meeting”. In Lombardy, Maximilian Springeth, who was the only South Tyrolean athlete to be at the top of the podium, was particularly able to put himself in the limelight. The flagship of the Athletic Club 96 Bozen won the high jump with 2.00 m. Springeth, who celebrates his 16th birthday on Wednesday, improved his record by an impressive 10 centimeters. The state selection also won six more medals. In the boys' field, Kevin Lubello and Christoph Öttl won the bronze medal. Lubello reached 6.18 m in the long jump, Öttl achieved 44.22 m in the javelin throw. Julia Moser from Pusteria shone in the women's category. The athlete from SSV Bruneck took second place in the 400 m hurdles in 2:1 minutes. 05.82 m ace Elina Neunhäuserer took bronze in 400:1 minutes. The two Merano women Vanessa Russo (00.83 m) and Emma Ghirardello Pichler (3 m) also secured third place. In the overall ranking, the South Tyrol selection took fifth place for both women and men.
