Nathalie Kofler is ahead in Brescia

Seven local athletes competed at the Challenge Meeting in Brescia over the weekend, where the last tickets for the upcoming Italian Championships were at stake.

The championships for the general class will take place in La Spezia on June 29th and 30th. Nathalie Kofler will definitely be there. The pole vaulter from Lanan cleared all heights (3.80, 3.90, 4.00, 4.10, 4.20 m) in her first attempt, only reaching the new national record height of 4.25 m was the end of the line. Kofler - her best mark is 4.21 m - won ahead of Francesca Semeraro (4.10) and Giada Pozzata (3.90).

Things didn't go so well for Nicolò Fusaro in the men's event. The Bozen native managed 4.80 m, but then failed to clear the 5-meter mark three times. His teammate at Athletic Club 96 Bozen, Destiny Nkeonye, finished sixth in the long jump with 7.33 m. The 23-year-old US student can hope to move up to the "Assoluti". The same goes for Petra Nardelli. The 400 m specialist from Eggen ran 54.28 seconds, which was enough for seventh place.

In the men's 400 m hurdles, Riccardo Vantini had to settle for 53.80th place with a time of 16 seconds. Marie Burger from Vahrn finished the 100 m hurdles in 14.33 seconds (19th). The Marling long jumper Anna Menz took seventh place with 5.85 m.
