New year, new name: The Stelvio Marathon becomes the Stilfserjoch Stelvio Trail Run. You have to overcome 21 km and 2.100 m in altitude, with King Ortler and his companions always in view. The 21 km route, starting in Prad am Stilfserjoch (915 m), leads over the Patzleidhof and the Archaikweg after a short time to the mountain village of Stilfs. Then from the town exit towards the Platzhof, where the runners have their first clear view of King Ortler. The path from the Platzhof ensures a constant change of rhythm; it alternates between narrow forest paths and wide gravel paths. Then follows a long mountain ridge on the slopes of which are the Prader Alm and the mountain station of the Trafoier chairlift, the Furkelhütte, - always through the nature of the Stilfserjoch National Park. From now on the route changes to a high alpine, narrow hiking trail, the Goldseeweg. After 2.100 meters in altitude, the participants cross the finish line above the Stilfser Joch pass at the Dreilingualspitze at 2.845 m, against the backdrop of the striking mountain landscape around King Ortler. The Stilferjoch Stelvio Trail Run on the highest pass road in Italy appeals to competitive trail runners from all over the world, enthusiastic hobby runners where fun is the priority, as well as mountain lovers with or without hiking poles. “Well-known, first-class runners are also taking part this year, such as the winner of the “Passatore 2022” Lee Grantham, the elite runner Julia Kessler and Jasper Boot,” emphasizes President Roman Kocht proudly.
