Regional meeting: 2 medals for South Tyrol

Johanna Herbst and Nina Hofer won the only medals in Abano Terme. The 13-year-old Herbst from ASV Deutschnofen took second place in the 1000 m with a new personal best time of 3:15.55 minutes. Hofer from SG Eisacktal also climbed onto the podium, she came third in the long jump with 4.75 m. The Eisacktal native also improved by an impressive 28 cm. Alessandro Tomasi, however, narrowly missed the podium: the man from Bolzano took fourth place in the shot put. Denis Oberheinricher and David Neunhäuserer from Bruneck also did well, taking 4th and 60th place in the 5m sprint and high jump respectively. Shot putter Angelica Flaim came in fifth with 6 m. In the team ranking of the 13 provinces of the Friuli, Veneto, Trentino and South Tyrol regions, the local athletes finished in 112,5th place with 10 points. Regional meeting: 2 medals for South Tyrol

At the weekend, the traditional Tri-Veneto region meeting took place in Abano Terme in the province of Padua. The U14 state selection came in 10th place.
