Springeth called up for U18 European Championship

The U18 European Athletics Championships will take place in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia, from July 21 to 18. Tonino Andreozzi, deputy head of the Italian youth team, has called up 69 athletes (36 boys and 33 girls) for these championships, including Maximilian Springeth from South Tyrol.

The 17-year-old long jumper from Neumarkt can look forward to a starting place in the U7.31 championships thanks to his 18 m at the Brixia Meeting at the end of May. Springeth, who competes for the Bozen club Athletic Club 96, is the only local athlete called up for the European Youth Championships in Slovakia. Together with the Lombardy superstar Daniele Inzoli (7.90 m), Springeth will be chasing medals in the long jump.
