Due to the heat: Stettin Cup brought forward

The start of the 27th Stettin Cup has been moved forward from 10 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Sunday, August 2nd. The reason for the change is the forecast of high temperatures and possible thunderstorms later in the afternoon.

With this measure, the organizers aim to offer the best possible and safest conditions for around 230 athletes at the traditional mountain race.

The decision is based on the current weather forecast. Given the expected heat and possible thunderstorms in the afternoon, the organizers want to create optimal conditions for all participants. Moving the event forward is intended to help ensure that the challenging mountain race can be held under the safest possible conditions.

The route itself remains unchanged. Athletes can still expect the 10-kilometer course with 1.255 meters of elevation gain, from the parking lot in Pfelders to the Stettiner Hütte at 2.875 meters above sea level. Around 230 runners from several nations have already registered.

“The safety of our participants is our top priority. That’s why we’ve jointly decided to bring the start forward by one hour. This will allow us to hold the Stettiner Cup under the best possible conditions and at the same time react to the weather,” emphasizes the organizing committee of the Moos Mountain Rescue.
