Three places back: Hamilton punished

Lewis Hamilton loses his second starting position for the Formula 1 race in Hungary.

The Ferrari star was given a three-place grid penalty for "unnecessary obstruction" of McLaren driver Oscar Piastri during qualifying in Budapest. The stewards reached this decision after hearing from both drivers and reviewing video footage and telemetry data.

This dropped the Englishman from second to fifth place for Sunday's final Grand Prix before the summer break (15.00 p.m.). Behind pole-sitter Lando Norris, Hamilton's Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc will now start from second, while championship leader Kimi Antonelli in the Mercedes is third ahead of Piastri.
