On the challenging, historic Spa-Francorchamps circuit, the McLaren driver finished well ahead of world champion Max Verstappen in a time of 1:42,022 minutes. The Dutchman in the Red Bull was 0,404 seconds behind the dominant Australian. Briton Lando Norris drove his McLaren just behind in third place (+0,504).
For Ferrari, led by Charles Leclerc and record world champion Lewis Hamilton, things didn't exactly go as planned at the opening race in the Ardennes. Leclerc finished a distant fifth (+0,906), while Hamilton was more than a second behind (7th/+1,063). This doesn't bode well for the Scuderia ahead of Sprint Qualifying, which takes place at Spa on Friday at 16.30:XNUMX p.m.
World Championship points already on Saturday in the sprint
The third sprint weekend of the season will be held in Belgium. World Championship points will be awarded in the short 12.00-kilometer race on Saturday (100:15.00 p.m.), and the more important Grand Prix victory will be decided on Sunday (13:24 p.m.). Before the 69th of XNUMX races of the season, Piastri leads the overall standings ahead of his teammate Norris. Four-time champion Verstappen, in third place, is already XNUMX points behind Piastri.Edit Profile
