Horner is hoping for a quick solution after the allegations

As part of the Formula 1 test drives in Bahrain, Red Bull team boss Christian Horner was cautious about the investigation against him for allegedly inappropriate behavior.

“There is a process that I am a part of,” he said at a press conference in Sakhir on Thursday. “I really can’t comment on the process or the time frame. Of course everyone would like to have a result as quickly as possible,” continued Horner.

The parent company Red Bull is at the beginning of February an “independent investigation” initiated against the 50-year-old. An external specialist lawyer had the Brit, the longest-serving team boss in the premier motorsport class, give his opinion during an hour-long conversation. Horner rejects the accusations and recently commented extensively on the proceedings. It is unclear whether he will remain in office.

McLaren's allegations

Formula 1 is urging that the procedure be clarified “as quickly as possible”. The official test drives last until Friday. The first Grand Prix of the year will take place on March 2nd in Bahrain. Horner commented in more detail on comments from McLaren boss Zak Brown that Red Bull had an advantage through its two teams in the world championship. Brown said in Bahrain that he doesn't know of any other sport in which two teams with the same owner would compete against each other.

Horner disagreed and argued that Red Bull also had two teams in the Champions League – Red Bull Salzburg and RB Leipzig. “These two teams are completely separate. One works in Italy, one in Great Britain,” said Horner about the two Formula 1 racing teams Red Bull Racing and Racing Bulls (formerly AlphaTauri).

The relationships are “far less” developed than others would have with their engine suppliers, said Horner. “We expect them as a competitor, not only for the rest of the field, but also for Red Bull Racing,” he said. The entire discussion is “absolutely not an issue” for him.
