Verstappen again and again: Max on pole

Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen starts the Austrian Grand Prix from first place.

The Dutchman fought his way to pole position for the race on Sunday (15.00 p.m.) in the Red Bull with the fastest lap in qualifying. Just over four hours after his victory in the sprint race, the 26-year-old finished on Saturday in 1:04,314 minutes, a good four tenths of a second ahead of the two McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. For Verstappen it was the 40th pole of his career. Nico Hülkenberg drove his Haas racing car to ninth place.

Before the eleventh of a total of 24 races of the season, Verstappen, who won in Spielberg last year, is comfortably leading the overall standings with a 70-point lead over Norris.
