Now it's fixed: Cadillac expands Formula 1

Cadillac’s entry into Formula 1 has now been officially approved by the racing series and the International Automobile Federation FIA.

With the US team, which will then receive the engines from Ferrari, eleven teams will start from 2026. At a later date, Cadillac's parent company General Motors will also build engines for Formula 1.

Formula 1 had initially rejected the launch of Michael Andretti's original project in 2026, while the FIA had already cleared the way. However, Formula 1, the FIA and General Motors then reached a basic agreement for the entry.

The last time eleven teams and 2014 drivers competed was in 22. The fact that this will be the case again next year is due to the major rule reform, particularly in the engine area.
