Verstappen's teammate extends contract

Red Bull will continue to rely on Isack Hajar as Max Verstappen's Formula 1 teammate. As the team announced ahead of this weekend's Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku, the 21-year-old Frenchman has extended his contract.

This means Hadjar will continue driving alongside the four-time world champion from the Netherlands in 2027. “We are very much looking forward to continuing our journey together with Isack. Since joining at the beginning of the year, he has delivered outstanding performances both on and off the track – especially considering this is only his second Formula 1 season,” explained Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekies.

Hadjar was promoted from the sister team Racing Bulls this season and impressed alongside Verstappen. He recently missed the races in Zandvoort, Monza, and Madrid due to a wrist injury. He returns to his car in Baku.
