Successful trial event for Motoclub Neumarkt

Nevertheless, the Neumarkt Motoclub once again succeeded in organizing an event of the highest standard - thanks to perfect logistics, the support of the municipality of Ruffrè-Mendola, the cooperation of the landowners, and the tireless commitment of the entire team, who worked diligently for days, always in compliance with the requirements of the Forestry Office of the Autonomous Province of Trento. Over 50 riders from across the Triveneto region participated in the competition, with South Tyroleans being particularly well represented – especially among the juniors. Around ten children, all from South Tyrol, competed in the Minitrial category. This is an encouraging sign for the future of this sport and the result of the consistent youth development project that the Neumarkt Motoclub has been pursuing with great commitment for some time. The proximity of the institutions was demonstrated by the all-day presence of the mayor of Ruffrè-Mendola, Donato Seppi, who was accompanied at the awards ceremony by Elena Paris, the deputy mayor of the municipality of Neumarkt. The course consisted of eight natural sections, designed by club president Dietmar Eisenstecken and his team. Three laps were to be completed, with a maximum driving time of five hours. The sections were challenging yet entertaining, providing excitement for both riders and spectators. Among the youngest riders, Samuele Tavan of the Motoclub Gaerne prevailed in the Minitrial A category, while Nathan Pichler, who shares his passion between motorcycle and bicycle trials, triumphed in the Minitrial C category. In the Minitrial Entry category, in which eight children – all from South Tyrol – competed, Leonardo Cressotti of the Motoclub Egna Neumarkt won, ahead of Julia Laimer of the Trial Team South Tyrol and Alex Tavana, also from the Trial Team. Following behind were Caio Aurelio Vettori, Marco Pozza, and Rayan Scarabello of the MC Egna, Peter Stuppner of the Trial Team South Tyrol, who was accompanied by his father on a motorcycle, and Timo Karl Lazzeri of the MC Egna Neumarkt. Francesco Martinelli celebrated a strong debut in the Vintage category. The versatile rider, already a successful participant in hillclimb races, will soon also compete in the Dakar Rally. Drivers from outside the region dominated the TR5 category, with the best South Tyrolean being Luca Pozza (Neumarkt) in fourth place, followed by Franz Eduard Gafriller in seventh and Franz Zöschg in eighth, both from the Trial Team South Tyrol. The TR4 category was won by the experienced Venetian Giampietro Gelai from the Trial Valchiampo Motoclub. South Tyrol also had some good reasons to celebrate: Franz Thaler from the Trial Team achieved an excellent third place, Laja Pichler finished fourth, while Benjamin Spögler, Herman Thaler, and Johann Laimer achieved other respectable placings. In the TR3 Open, Noreno Piazza, Gian Paolo Concina, and Simon Taferner of the Trial Team South Tyrol fought a thrilling battle. Taferner ultimately finished third, just one point behind second place, after making a mistake in the final section. Günther Berger also performed strongly, finishing sixth. Gregor Kerschbaumer finished eighth, Simon Stuppner eleventh, and Werner Burgmann 13th. In the TR3, the "premier class" along with the TR2 at the regional level, victory went to the President of the Trial Team South Tyrol, Richard Pichler, who relegated the young, talented Alex Zandonà of MC Valchiampo to second place. Giuseppe Zeni took third place, while the experienced and combative Leonhard Ebner took fourth. The event concluded with a celebratory awards ceremony, which was also attended by the local authorities and the President of the FMI Bolzano Regional Committee, Marco Bolzonello. He thanked the Egna Motoclub for the excellent organization and the municipality of Ruffrè-Mendola for its support. The wish of all involved is that this event continues to grow in importance and prestige – driven by the enthusiasm of the region and the passion of the riders.
