Bagnaia winner in MotoGP sprint in Indonesia

Motorcycle rider Francesco Bagnaia on Ducati is the big winner in the MotoGP sprint of the Grand Prix of Indonesia.

With his fifth win of the season in this format, the Italian halved his deficit to world championship leader Jorge Martin to twelve points. Bagnaia finished the Mandalika Street Circuit with a tenth of a second lead over fellow countryman and brand colleague Enea Bastianini after taking the lead early on due to Martin's mishap.

The Spaniard, who had started from pole position, crashed at the end of the first lap while in the lead. Martin continued his ride on the Ducati, but was unable to finish higher than tenth. Marc Marquez secured third place after a chase. The Spaniard, who also rode a Ducati, had only started the stage from twelve on the grid.
