Bezzecchi celebrates his fourth consecutive victory

Marco Bezzecchi has also won the second Grand Prix in the MotoGP World Championship this season.

The Italian rider cruised to victory on his Aprilia in Goiânia, Brazil, on Sunday, ahead of his fellow Aprilia rider Jorge Martin. Fabio Di Giannantonio (Ducati) finished third. World Champion Marc Marquez had to settle for fourth place. Bezzecchi had already won the last two races of the previous season, bringing his record to four consecutive victories.

The 27-year-old also took over the World Championship lead from KTM rider Pedro Acosta. The Spaniard finished only seventh at the Ayrton Senna Circuit. His teammate Brad Binder was unable to finish the race. In Moto3, the World Championship race ended painfully for Leo Rammerstorfer. The Upper Austrian was thrown from his Honda on the third lap and was unable to continue. The victory went to Spaniard Maximo Quiles.

Bezzecchi, who started from second position behind his fellow Italian Di Giannantonio, quickly took the lead and then drove relentlessly to victory. The race was shortened from 31 to 23 laps shortly before the start, due to track wear. Heavy rain had fallen on Goiânia in the preceding days.
