The Spanish Ducati star won the MotoGP race at the Czech Grand Prix and is now only 40 points behind leader Marco Bezzecchi in the World Championship standings. The Italian was banned from this race because he had physically attacked track marshals the previous day after his sprint crash. (SportNews reported)In the main race, Ai Ogura and Francesco Bagnaia finished second and third, respectively.
For Marquez, this is his 101st World Championship victory across all classes and his second consecutive win. He celebrated his first victory of the season two weeks ago in Hungary. Before that, the 33-year-old had missed three consecutive races, primarily due to his crash at the end of April in Jerez. Near the Austrian border, Marquez overtook his struggling teammate Bagnaia for the lead with six laps to go. Pole-sitter Ogura, riding his Aprilia, missed out on the first MotoGP victory for a Japanese rider in 22 years by just 0,421 seconds.

“It was an important victory at the right time,” said Marquez, who had been 102 points behind the leader during the season, and emphasized: “I never give up.”
