Many falls, one king: Márquez shines at the anniversary

Eight-time motorcycle world champion Marc Márquez crowned his 200th start in the premier class with a dominant victory at the Sachsenring.

The Spanish Ducati rider won the German Grand Prix for the ninth time in his MotoGP career. 256.441 spectators came to the track over the race weekend, breaking the record again. The MotoGP dominator further extended his lead in the overall standings with his seventh win of the season. Behind Márquez, who also won the sprint on Saturday, were his younger brother Alex Márquez and Francesco Bagnaia (both Ducati) in the crash festival at the Sachsenring. A total of eight riders retired.

In the Moto3 class, the Intact GP racing team celebrated a home victory, secured by David Muñoz for the Memmingen-based team. "He did it very smartly, it was impressive," said team principal Jürgen Lingg.
