Successful weekend for South Tyrol in Arco.

Successful South Tyrolean weekend in Arco

On Sunday, the fifth round of the Motocross North-East Trophy was held in Arco, which also counted towards the Trentino-South Tyrol regional championship. A total of 265 riders took part, including numerous riders from South Tyrol who impressed with strong performances.

The race weekend was particularly successful for four South Tyrolean class winners: Julian Kammerer won the MX2 Challenge class, Simon Herbst prevailed in the MX2 Rider class, Fabian Lantschner triumphed in the MX2 Expert class and Norbert Lantschner took the victory in the Open Master class.


South Tyrolean riders also achieved important placings in the other categories. In the 65cc Debutant class, Alex Federa from MC Neumarkt finished seventh, followed directly by Aaron Trafoier. In the 65cc Cadet class, Leonhard Holzer (Alp-Riders Meran) and Lenny Trafoier finished in seventh and eighth place, respectively.

In the 85+ Senior class, Jakob Gampenrieder finished tenth, while Yuri Chieregato, Matteo Benamati, and Lia Anna Ohrwalder – all representing Alp-Riders Meran – gained further valuable experience. Milena Taibon finished sixth in the women's competition.

In the Junior 125 category, Elia Fulco finished ninth, and David Schieder came in 17th. In the Senior 125 class, Elias Grünbacher and Simon Eisenstecken finished 15th and 16th respectively.

Besides Julian Kammerer's victory in the MX2 Challenge, Matthias Höller also impressed with fourth place. Andreas Malfertheiner and Harald Buchschwenter completed the strong South Tyrolean result. In the MX2 Rider class, Simon Herbst celebrated the day's victory, while Matteo Brusinelli finished sixth.

Fabian Lantschner dominated the MX2 Expert class, securing another victory for South Tyrol, while Dominik Varotto finished ninth. In the MX1 Expert class, Georg Falser finished sixth.

There were also strong results in the veteran classes: Alessandro Zeni and Oliver Eisenstecken finished ninth and thirteenth respectively in the Veteran Open. In the Superveteran Open, Marco Belleri secured a podium finish, taking third place. Helmuth Braun and Martin Niedermair followed in fourth and eighth place.

Norbert Lantschner secured the fourth South Tyrolean victory of the day in the Master Open class. Maurizio Lubian completed the results with a tenth-place finish.
