Further successes for Target Competition

Last weekend, the South Tyroleans from Target Competition took part in three racing series. The Porsche Carrera Cup Germany took place again at the Sachsenring, while the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia and the TCR Italy held their races in Imola.

Dutchman Senna Van Soelen, who started from P1 in the first race of the Porsche Carrera Cup in Germany, drove a strong race and finished it in an excellent 9th place. In the second race, starting from P6, Senna Van Soelen showed his fighting spirit and fought his way up 2 places in an incredibly even field and finished the race in 10th place.

Target Competition entered the first race of the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia on Saturday with two drivers. Marvin Klein (F), with ambitions for the title, had an excellent qualifying result, coming in second. Benjamin Paque, a 2-year-old Belgian, made his debut in the team. Finishing in fifth place straight away was a more than remarkable result.

The first race also brought success for Marvin Klein. He got off to a good start and was able to withstand numerous attacks and took the well-deserved victory. Benjamin Paque also repeated his excellent qualifying result, finishing his debut race for Target Competition in 1th place!

In the second race, M. Klein started from second place, while B. Paque started from 2th place. For Paque, the race only lasted a few minutes; he spun into the gravel on a wet track. After a few corners, M. Klein was able to fight his way to the front of the field and defend his lead in changing conditions; a win was the deserved result. 2 wins in 11 days for the Frenchman and the team.

The TCR Italy race

In qualifying, Alex Ley (GB) secured a top position with P5. The two South Koreans Junesung and Junui Park came in 6th and 11th respectively. They drive for the "Solite Indigo" team, but are supported by Target Competition, including their Hyundai Elantras TCR. The private driver Federico Paolino finished in 22nd place.

Alex Ley had a lot of bad luck in the race, a technical problem forced him to make a pit stop, which meant that all his ambitions for a top spot were gone. Junesung Park did an excellent job, and the reward for a hard-fought race was a podium finish of P3. Junui Park and F. Paolino finished in P15 and P20 respectively.

In the second race, Junesung Park started from P2 and Alex Ley from P3. Both drove a great race and were able to improve by 4 places. However, while Alex Ley was able to secure a great podium finish with P2, Junesung Park had to retire from P2. Junui Park finished the race in 2th place, Federico Paolino in P11.

The Porsche Carrera Cup Italia and the TCR Italy continue in Vallelunga from 20 to 22 September.
