Target Competition: Strong performance in Misano

Of the 4 drivers in the TCR Cup, 3 come from South Korea: Park Junui, Park Junesung and Hwarang Kim. The two Park (no relation) officially drive for the Korean “Solite Indigo Team”, but the drivers and cars are looked after by Target Competition. Alex Ley (GBR) also drives for the team from Andrian. The qualifying for the TCR started like it couldn't have started better. 19-year-old Alex Ley, who was runner-up in the British TCR series last year, was able to secure pole position straight away. Kim Hwarang, also very young at 3, made it to third place. Junesung and Junui Park rounded off the exceptionally good qualifying with P18 and P7. Kim Hwarang finished the race in fourth place, an excellent debut in a racing series that was still unfamiliar to him. Junesung Park had a puncture and was able to resume the race, but ended up in P16. Junui Park drove a fantastic race, he fought his way forward from P7, and a podium finish with P3 was the reward. The second race on Sunday was also a triumph for Team Target. Junui Park, who started from P2, was immediately able to take the lead, and the young South Korean was able to defend this position confidently until the finish. 2 wins in the first two races of the season for the South Tyrolean team. Alex Ley, starting from P2, finished an excellent fourth, while Kim Hwarang and Junesung Park ended up at the back after problems. This is how it went in the Porsche Carrera Cup Marvin Klein (FRA) and Janne Stiak (GER) are in action in the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia. Stiak, only 17 years old, was the youngest driver ever to compete in a Porsche Cup in 2023. Things didn't go so well in qualifying. However, a 10th and 11th place for Marvin Klein and Janne Stiak, with 30 vehicles at the start, could still be described as satisfactory. In the race, Marvin Klein was able to gain 3 places and finished the race in an excellent 7th place. Janne Stiak, on the other hand, lost 2 places and ended up in P12. Marvin Klein had a lot of bad luck in the second race. He spun after a contact, fell back to the end of the field and started a furious race to catch up. He was up to P2 when a puncture forced him to retire on the last lap. Janne Stiak drove a solid race, finishing eighth. The next Porsche Carrera Cup races will take place in Imola at the end of May, while the TCR Italy will not be back in action until mid-June in Pergusa.

For the third racing weekend in a row, the South Tyrolean racing team Target Competition traveled to the Misano Adriatico racetrack. In the luggage 3 racing cars, 6 Hyundai Elantra for the TCR Italy Cup and 4 cars for the Porsche Carrera Cup Italy.
