Giro: The countdown to the 14th stage with the finish in Corvara is underway

After 85 km, the stage passes Arabba and now meets the classic roads of the Maratona, the spectacular passes that connect the Ladin valleys: Pordoi, Sella, Gardena Pass, Campolongo, Giau, Falzarego and Valparola. The route then reaches La Villa and leads over the “Mür dl Giat” cat wall, a climb with a gradient of almost 19%, which was also part of the Maratona route in 2014. The riders are expected at the finish in Corvara at around 17:00 p.m., on the same finish line as at the Maratona. They will drive through here at 14:45 p.m. During this 210km long stage, the athletes have to overcome a difference in altitude of more than 5.000m. All cycling lovers have three opportunities to experience the Giro live and up close. And not just at the finish in Corvara. There are good opportunities beforehand at the Pordoi Pass and later in Arabba. Afterwards there is enough time to secure a good place for the finish sprint in Corvara. For those who position themselves at the finish area in Corvara in the early afternoon, the race will be broadcast live on a large screen. The forest festival begins at 11:00 a.m. with grilled specialties and the “Inferno Band” will provide musical entertainment. There will be plenty of entertainment throughout the afternoon with RDS radio and the Boé cable car will be in operation from 12:00, taking you from the center of the village to 2000m in just a few minutes and enjoying a spectacular view of the Dolomites . After the race, the party continues at the après-ski L'Murin in the center of Corvara, which becomes the après stage. This evening, a pink outfit in the color of the Giro d'Italia and the Enrosadira, the mountain glow in the late afternoon, is the order of the day. In the center of La Villa, however, there is the “Giro d'Italia Fan Zone” with public viewing. A perfect opportunity to experience the entire stage and especially the exciting phases with the climb to the Mür dl Giat, to the Katzenmauer. At the Fan Zone there is also the opportunity to taste the region's culinary specialties and be musically entertained by Hubert Pezzei and the group Pamstidd'n Kings. At 15:00 p.m. the Giro d'Italia caravan stops, providing plenty of animation and entertainment.
