A Swedish woman cheers in Leogang

Jenny Rissveds celebrated a commanding victory in the Cross Country race at the Mountain Bike World Cup in Leogang.

The Swede coped best with the difficult conditions on the slippery course made up by rain and clearly pulled away from the competition. The Olympic and World Champion crossed the finish line first after 1 hour, 25 minutes, and 29 seconds.

Behind Rissveds, the Dutchwoman Puck Pieterse finished second, 56 seconds behind. Third place went to the Swiss rider Alessandra Keller, who crossed the finish line 1 minute and 14 seconds behind the winner. Her compatriot Nicole Koller followed closely behind in fourth place, while Savilia Blunk from the USA completed the top five.

From an Italian perspective, Martina Berta was the best rider: she finished sixth in the women's race. Greta Seiwald from South Tyrol, however, was unable to finish the race.

French sweep of the podium in the men's competition

In the men's race, there was a French sweep of the podium. Adrien Boichis celebrated his first World Cup victory on the significantly drier course, finishing six seconds ahead of Mathis Azzaro and 18 ahead of Luca Martin.
