Maximilian Vieider Italian champion in the Elite Sport category
The first Italian mountain bike cross country championship titles were awarded on Saturday in Nemi near Rome. Maximilian Vieider from Bolzano won the first gold medal in the Elite Sport master category. It was the 21-year-old's second championship title; he had already won the junior championship in Torre Canavese in 2010. Today Vieider clearly prevailed against Federico Rizza from Brescia and Vito Buono from Matera. Defending champion Marco Cellini had to be content with the thankless 4th place.
