He has already demonstrated his good early form in the past few weeks and months. At the European Urban Downhill Race, which took place in Toscolano Maderno in April, he impressed with 2nd place. A short time later he went one better with third place at an international race in Bulgaria. “In the next few years I want to have a say in the top 20” Hannes Alber Of course, he is not yet a candidate for the top places in the World Cup. “But in the long term, I want to have a say in the top 20 in the next few years,” emphasizes Alber. For now, it's about regularly qualifying for the final of the top 80 and continuing to gain experience. “The performance density is enormous in the top 100. In the top 60 everything is very close together,” says Alber. He is still waiting for his first final participation in a World Cup race. “But I hope that this will happen this year.”

By the way, Rittner can also be admired on TV at the World Cup. Discovery has taken over the rights to mountain biking, so the races also run on Eurosport. “That’s good for the whole scene,” says Alber happily. Downhill is not yet Olympic like cross country.

Best training options in South Tyrol In South Tyrol, Alber wants to help the sport experience an upswing. “After all, the training opportunities here are good, there are interesting trails in Kohlern, but also in the bike parks at Kronplatz, at the Reschen Pass, as well as in the middle and lower Vinschgau, especially for hobby riders,” he emphasizes. Alber has been starting again this season for the Bolzano team ASC Tiroler Radler. The club has been active in MTB sports for years. Now they want to focus more on the downhill area again. Hannes Alber wants to advertise this best in the team's jersey on the international World Cup trails.
