Back on the podium: Paccagnella is unstoppable

Elian Paccagnella is one of Italy's most talented cyclists. The Bolzano native impressively underscored this over the weekend in Araxa, Brazil.

The 19-year-old caused a sensation on Friday when he first World Cup victory. Paccagnella was unbeatable in the U23 short track race. The following day, he followed up with another victory: In the U23 cross-country race, the Talferstadt native finished third.


He was beaten only by Swiss Finn Treudler and Norwegian William Handley. Paccagnella ultimately missed the win by 51 seconds. With these outstanding results, the Bolzano native impressively demonstrated his talent.

A great future?

Paccagnella already hinted that he has a bright future ahead of him in 2023, when he won the silver medal at the Junior World Championships. Greta Seiwald, another South Tyrolean, competed in Brazil. She finished 27th in the women's cross-country race on Saturday.
