"The Tour is my most important goal, along with the World Championships (in Rwanda)," Pogacar announced on Tuesday at the team meeting of his UAE team in Benidorm, Spain. The Slovenian has not yet decided whether he will ride the Giro d'Italia again in 2025 or possibly take part in the Vuelta. He will not ride all three major tours, he stated.
Last year, Pogacar was the first rider since Marco Pantani in 1998 to achieve the Giro-Tour double, and then he also won the world championship title in Zurich. "I don't see myself as an old rider yet. There is still room for improvement," stressed the 26-year-old, who had an outstanding year in 2024 with 25 victories in the season.
Pogacar has his sights set on some classics again in 2025. He wants to make another attempt at his first victory at Milan-Sanremo. His season starts in February at the UAE Tour.
