At the 112th Tour, the defending champion left classics specialist Mathieu van der Poel no chance in a split-second duel and reclaimed the overall lead. The previous day, classics specialist Mathieu van der Poel had reclaimed it thanks to a tiny one-second gap.
In the overall standings, the exceptional Slovenian rider now leads Belgian double Olympic champion Remco Evenepoel by 54 seconds. Frenchman Kevin Vauquelin is in third place, 1:11 minutes behind Pogacar.

After the hilly 197 kilometers between the coastal town of Saint-Malo and Mûr-de-Bretagne, Guerlédan, Pogacar took the stage victory in a sprint ahead of his rival Jonas Vingegaard and Evenepoel. Several riders at the back of the leading group crashed towards the end of the stage, including Pogacar's Portuguese helper, Joao Almeida, and Santiago Buitrago of Colombia.
Two flat stages on the weekend
This weekend, the sprinters will battle for the stage win on two flat stages on Saturday and Sunday. Before the first rest day, the professional cyclists face the challenging tenth stage on Monday, with 4450 meters of elevation gain.Edit Profile
