Mattia Predomo, just under 21 years old from Branzoll, won the gold medal in the team sprint with Italy at the U23 European Track Cycling Championships in Anadia (Portugal).

The Azzurri defeated the Czech Republic in the final a few days ago. Bronze went to the French, who beat Belgium.
In the individual sprint, Predomo easily made it through the qualification yesterday morning. He defeated Frenchman Matthias Sylvanise in the round of 16. In the quarterfinals, the young South Tyrolean lost to Russian Nikita Kiriltsev.
